Brazil

A country the size of a continent: mountains above Rio's bay, thundering waterfalls, wild wetlands and an endless coastline.

Brazil is so vast that no single journey can take it all in — and that's part of its charm. In Rio de Janeiro granite peaks rise straight out of the city and the sea, the Iguazú Falls roar through the rainforest, and in the Pantanal wetlands, in the dry season, you may find a jaguar on the riverbank.

Each region keeps its own rhythm: Afro-Brazilian drums echo through Salvador's old town, time slows in the cobbled lanes of Paraty, and among the dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses rainwater gathers into clear lagoons between the sand. It's best to choose two or three directions and give them time.

Experiences to consider

  1. 01

    The Iguazú Falls

Hundreds of waterfalls on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The Brazilian side offers the widest panoramas, while the Argentine side brings you right to the Devil's Throat — both are worth seeing.

  2. 02

    Rio de Janeiro

Sugarloaf and the statue of Christ the Redeemer above Corcovado, the Tijuca forest in the heart of the city, beach life and evenings to the sound of samba.

  3. 03

    The Pantanal and the Amazon

The Pantanal is the world's largest tropical wetland, home to caimans, capybaras and hyacinth macaws. From Manaus, you can head out onto the Amazon's rivers and stay at forest lodges.

  4. 04

    Salvador and the coast

The colours of Pelourinho and Afro-Brazilian culture in Salvador, colonial Paraty and the forested shores of Ilha Grande — a coastline that invites you to linger.

Ways to travel

Ways to experience it

Ways to travel aren't separate paths — the best journeys often bring several together.

  • Wildlife & nature

The Pantanal wetlands and Amazon rivers with experienced naturalist guides. Jaguars and other wildlife are never guaranteed.

  • Culture & discovery

Salvador's music and food, Rio's neighbourhoods and colonial towns — with locals who open up their way of life.

  • Honeymoons & special journeys

Peaceful coastal stays, sunsets over Rio's bay and a few days in nature, far from the city's buzz.

  • Tailor-made journeys

Great distances call for well-timed domestic flights — we'll shape the route so more of your time goes to the experiences.
