How it works

Every journey starts with a conversation

You don't need a destination, dates or a fixed plan. An idea is enough — we'll find the rest of the way together.

Some people know exactly where they want to go. Others only know they'd like something new. Either way, we start the same way: first we listen, then we explore what's possible together.

First, we listen. Then, we explore what's possible.

  1. 1

Tell us what you're dreaming of

A journey starts with you, not with a catalogue.

Share whatever you have: a country you've always wanted to see, a celebration coming up, a feeling you're after, or simply the sense that it's time for something new. A few sentences are plenty.

It helps to know who's travelling, roughly when, and what a good day away looks like to you — busy and active, slow and restorative, or a bit of both. If you'd like to share a budget, that helps too; if not, we can talk it through.

  2. 2

    Explore the possibilities together

This is where listening turns into ideas.

We'd talk through what matters most to you and ask the questions that shape a good journey: the pace you enjoy, the places you like to stay, anything you'd rather avoid. Then we'd suggest possibilities — sometimes the destination you had in mind, sometimes a combination or an alternative you hadn't considered.

Nothing is fixed at this stage. It's a conversation, and changing direction is part of it.

  3. 3

    Shape a journey around you

The details are where a journey becomes yours.

Once a direction feels right, we'd refine the route together — how long to spend in each place, how to move between them, where to stay and which experiences deserve the time.

How the journey would then be arranged and confirmed would be explained clearly and personally before anything is agreed.

  4. 4

    Prepare for departure

So that setting off is only about the journey itself.

A good journey begins before you leave: knowing what each day holds, what's worth packing, what the weather is likely to be and what to look out for when you arrive. The aim is to have everything important in one place, written clearly and without a rush.

The exact shape of that support, and how we'd stay in touch while you travel, is still being worked out. Once it's settled we'll describe it here precisely, without promising anything we can't yet deliver.

What's useful to share at the start

None of this needs to be exact — a rough picture is enough.

  • Who's travelling — and children's ages, if it's a family trip
  • Roughly when, and for how long
  • Places you're considering — or that you don't know yet
  • How you like to travel: pace, activity, places to stay
  • What the journey is for: a celebration, rest, a first big trip…
  • A budget, if you'd like to share one
  • Anything else worth knowing: access needs, dietary needs, worries

Questions people ask

Do I need to know where I want to go?

No. Many journeys start with a feeling or an occasion rather than a place. Tell us what you enjoy and we'll suggest destinations that fit.

Can I combine several countries?

Yes, where the geography makes sense — Tanzania with Zanzibar, Sri Lanka with the Maldives, Vietnam with Cambodia. We'll be honest when a combination would mean too much time in transit.

Can I ask about a destination that isn't on the site?

Yes. The destinations on the site are inspiration, not limits. You can type any country or region into the planning form.

Do I need to know my exact dates or budget?

No. A rough window is enough, such as “autumn” or “the school holidays”. You can give an approximate budget or leave it to discuss later: it helps us suggest ideas that fit, but you don't need one to start the conversation.

Can I combine adventure with beautiful places to stay?

Of course. A trek can end at a hot-spring ryokan; a safari can finish on a quiet beach. Ways to travel are made to be combined.

Can I ask about a family trip, honeymoon or group?

Yes. Each shapes a journey differently — from children's ages and pace to celebration and privacy. Friends travelling together and solo travellers looking for a small group are welcome too.

Can you help me compare options?

That's much of the point: we can look at two or three directions side by side and talk through how they differ.

What happens after I send an enquiry?

The intention is a personal reply and, if you'd like, a conversation to understand your ideas better. As TOLIAI is still being prepared, the exact process, timings and how journeys are booked will be confirmed before it opens.

Is it only for long-haul or luxury travel?

No. TOLIAI plans journeys worldwide, including Europe — and luxury, to us, means care and attention, not a minimum budget.

A few lines about what you have in mind — and we can begin.
